We are excited to share that ISEC welcomes a new colleague – Michael Mcloughlin, as our Director of Business Development & Sales in the UK. At the same time, we are saying thank you and goodbye to our colleague and dear friend Peter Gregory, Business Development Director Europe.
We asked Michael and Peter a few questions for you to get to know them better:
Why did you choose to start working for ISEC/ What has been your role at ISEC and how long have you worked for the company?
Michael Mcloughlin: ISEC Monitoring Systems has a very positive reputation as a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality products and services with clients, partners and stakeholders in the UK nuclear industry. I have found the staff at ISEC to be very friendly, engaging and talented group of individuals and there is an excellent working environment.
Peter Gregory: I joined ISEC in July 2020 as Business Development manager to introduce and grow the ISEC brand in the UK Nuclear market and internationally, but also to aid in other markets. I was later promoted to Business Development Director 2021 in Europe.
What is your expertise/area of interest in your work?/ Can you tell us about a highlight from your years at ISEC?
Michael Mcloughlin: I have over twenty years’ working experience in the global nuclear industry. Throughout my career I have been involved in collaborative projects between large Tier 2 UK and international companies wanting to increase their portfolios in the. My aim is to help ISEC grow its profile in the UK and internationally, by building on the current level of business and developing the client base with new business.
Peter Gregory: May I include more than one? During the 2nd Covid lockdown, we were successful in establishing a good remote working relationship with Cavendish Nuclear in the UK, which helped win us a sizeable contract, a major decommissioning project at Sellafield. To win this contract against the established incumbent suppliers was a big win and helped launch ISEC in the UK. It certainly helped us win further work at the Magnox sites, as well as at Dounreay in Scotland.
Secondly, winning the Process CCTV system at the Sellafield Product and Residue Store Retreatment Plant (SRP) at the end of 2023. This is a brand-new building at Sellafield and should put ISEC in a strong position to win further work moving forward.
What projects are you looking forward to be involved in? /What will you miss the most about ISEC?
Michael Mcloughlin: I am UK based so I look forward to identifying new UK opportunities especially those that will involve opening new market areas and supplying the new ISEC products and solutions.
Peter Gregory: Obviously, the people. There is a team at ISEC, from the owners down, that all want ISEC to succeed. It is that spirit I shall miss more than anything.
What do you like to do in your spare time?/ What are you looking forward to in your retirement?
Michael Mcloughlin: I’ve always been a keen sportsman playing football, golf and cricket at local league level. I support my local football team Carlisle United and attend matches both home and away. Cycling is something that I enjoy, and I have completed many ‘Coast to Coast’ cycle rides across England, Scotland and Wales. Living on the Western side of the English Lake District provides a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors where I like to go walking in the ‘fells’ and lakes with my family.
Peter Gregory: We are moving to Cornwall in the south-west of England to be closer to the coastline. We plan to walk some of the coastal path and probably get one or two dogs to exercise us. I suspect my retirement will take in one or two pubs as well. I may also start supporting football teamTruro City, as I will be too far from the Arsenal to go there regularly.
